Quick Analysis

Jabari Brown

#19

SG (#5)

Brown is a very good shooter who can post up smaller defenders and finish through contact. He has very good range out to beyond the arc and can get on hot streaks which are deadly to opponents. He is also a good athlete, has a good mid-range game and is simply an overall good scorer.

Brett Kingma

NR

SG (NR)

Like Brown, Kingma is a very good shooter. He has the ability to knock down shots off the dribble or in catch-and-shoot situations and can make both mid-range and perimeter jump shots. He is also fast with the ball which makes him especially dangerous in transition.

Bruce Barron

NR

PG (NR)

Although Barron is a point guard, he can play more like a shooting guard at times because of his scoring ability. He is a great slasher with a quick first step and has good court vision which enables him to make impressive passes once he gets into the lane.

Austin Kuemper

NR

PF (NR)

Kuemper can score both facing the basket and with his back to the basket. He has soft touch around the basket and can knock down mid-range jumpers consistently. He also has improving foot work and runs the floor well in transition.

Carlos Emory

NR

PF (NR)

This junior college prospect is a terrific athlete who loves to finish above the rim. He plays more like a combo forward and runs the floor extremely well. He is also quick and has pretty good strength.

Evaluation

This Oregon Ducks class is highlighted by three high-level scorers topped of by shooting guard Jabari Brown. Like shooting guard Brett Kingma, Brown is an excellent shooter with great range and consistency. He is also a very good athlete with a good mid-range game. The Ducks have a couple of intriguing power forward prospects since Austin Kuemper could be a steal if he develops a better post-game and Carlos Emory is a great athlete who has untapped potential. Oregon has a good overall class and will definitely be helped by Brown’s and Kingma’s scoring ability.
