East vs. West All-American Championship Notes
In the inaugural All-American Championship East versus West game, the West squad defeated the East team, 107-104. Perry Ellis won the Most Outstanding Player award for the West with 14 points and eight rebounds and Maurice Harkless won it for the East with 15 points.
- D’Angelo Harrison has great range and consistency on his three-point shot
- Alex Murphy is surprisingly strong and finishes well
- Myles Mack is very fast with the ball
- Rasheed Sulaimon has a floater that he can hit at all angles
- Perry Ellis has developed a very nice shooting stroke from the perimeter and can score from inside and out
- Ryan Anderson did a good job rebounding, throwing outlet passes, and shooting a hook shot over his left shoulder
- Cameron Ridley positions himself well down low
- Shabazz Muhammad runs the floor extremely well and has improved his three-point shooting
- Naadir Tharpe has improved his perimeter shot
- DaJuan Coleman has good footwork in the low post
- Julien Lewis is speedy, athletic, and shoots well
- Desmond Hubert provides good back-side defense
- D’Angelo Harrison attacks the basket fearlessly
