McDonald’s All-Americans Announced: Rosters/Video

Class of 2012 star point guard Kyle Anderson (UCLA), shooting guard Rodney Purvis (North Carolina State), small forward Alex Poythress (Kentucky), power forward Amile Jefferson and center DaJuan Coleman (Syracuse) will not only be on the same court March 28, but they’ll also be on the same team.

Why? Because the McDonald’s All-American game rosters were announced featuring the top high school talents in the country.

Stud point guard Marcus Paige (North Carolina), shooting guard Rasheed Sulaimon (Duke), small forward Shabazz Muhammad, power forward Anthony Bennett and center Isaiah Austin (Baylor) will be on the opposing team and are representing the West squad.

The game will be played at 9:30pm on ESPN at the United Center in Chicago and will also featured a slam dunk contest and three-point shootout. Every college basketball team who has won the National Championship since the McDonald’s game has started has had a McDonald’s All-American on the roster, except for the 2002 Maryland squad, and North Carolina (63), Duke (50) and Kentucky (33) have the most selections to the contest ever. UCLA (30) and Kansas (27) round out the top-five.

North Carolina State has the most players in the game between point guard Tyler Lewis, Purvis and small forward T.J. Warren.

Some notable players left off the list include recently re-classified center Nerlens Noel, shooting guard Ricardo Ledo (Providence) and power forward Mitch McGary (Michigan) since they’re all ineligible to receive a bid.

A few guys I was happy to see on the list are point guards Kris Dunn (Providence) and Lewis as well as power forward Perry Ellis (Kansas) since all three are very deserving even though they don’t get the same hype as some of their fellow seniors.

To see who else made the game, check out the rosters below.
