Last week reports surfaced from various media outlets that class of 2012 power forward Perry Ellis (#10) was down to four schools: Duke, Kansas, Kansas State and Kentucky, however, we were unable to confirm this news with our sources.
Now we know why.
National Recruiting Spotlight received an e-mail from Ellis’ high school coach, Joe Auer, stating that Perry narrowed his list down to four schools tonight. “Perry Ellis has named The University of Kansas, Kansas State University, Wichita State University and the University of Kentucky as the 4 schools he will consider scholarship offers from this fall.”
As you can see, the major difference is that Ellis is considering Wichita State instead of Duke, as previously reported by others. The e-mail also stated that Ellis has scheduled in-home visits with Kansas and Kansas State for September 9th.
“He chose the schools that he feels the most comfortable with,” said Ellis’ mother, Fonda Ellis, “and the ones who have been recruiting him the longest.” Fonda also said Perry is working on scheduling visits for Kentucky and Wichita State and that Kansas and Kansas State were scheduled first because they asked about visits before the other two.
