The #25 recruit in the class of 2011 Ben McLemore committed to the Kansas Jayhawks today after the All-American Championship game over the Missouri Tigers. He is the #6 small forward in his class and leaves DeAndre Daniels (#24) as the lone top-25 undecided prospect. McLemore joins point guard Naadir Tharpe as the only two Jayhawk commitments however three other top-50 prospects are considering Kansas including Daniels, shooting guard Trevor Lacey (#37), and small forward Otto Porter (#40).
McLemore is an explosive athlete who can stroke it beyond the arc and can finish strong when he gets into the lane. He sets his feet extremely well before he shoots whether he’s shooting from 5 feet out or 25 feet out. He can catch and shoot well and can play any of the perimeter positions. McLemore needs to add muscle to his frame and improve his ball-handling but look for him to keep improving his game and to help out Kansas immediately.
