Ellis wins Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year 3rd straight time

Class of 2012 prospect Perry Ellis won the Kansas Gatorade Player of the Year award for the third straight time today and is the first player from Wichita Heights High School to win it. The award not only recognizes outstanding basketball skills (Ellis has led his team to a state championship every year), but academic achievement as well (he maintains a 4.0 GPA and ranks #1 in his graduating class). Ellis is now in the running for the National Player of the Year award which includes an impressive list on alumni including Dwight Howard, Jason Kidd, Paul Pierce, and Chris Bosh.
