Ochefu: “The [Texas] visit was really good”

Class of 2012 center Daniel Ochefu made his first visit out to Texas today which according to him included a tour of the campus, a meeting the team, and a talk with head coach Rick Barnes, the Strength and Conditioning Coach, and the Athletic Director.

Says Ochefu, “I thought their facilities were amazing and I really liked Coach Barnes and his support staff.” He made the visit with his mom and one of his coaches and added, “We all liked it a lot.” He also said that “the visit was really good.” This was the last stop on Ochefu’s last round of college visits which included Villanova a couple of weeks ago, Georgetown a week ago, and Temple last Friday.

Some thing to think about is that Ochefu now lives in Pennsylvania so Villanova and Temple could be considered the “home-town favorites” but he’s from Baltimore so he may have roots with Georgetown. When asked about a favorite, he said he “sort of” has one but it’s clear he has a tough choice ahead of him. Just in his talks with us, it seems that he loves all of his colleges — as does his mom — and that he isn’t committed to one school yet.

Keep in mind that he told us that he’s committing this month, however, he does not know when. When asked about a specific date this month, he said, “I have no clue.” Check out our interview with Ochefu to see what he had to say about his recruitment and more and check the class of 2012 page to see why he’s such a highly touted recruit.
