Terps pick up German

Class of 2011 power forward Martin Breunig committed to Maryland today over Green Bay, San Francisco, Saint Louis, and Virginia. He just moved to the United States this year and provides the Terps with their only big man in the class of 2011. Breunig is an athletic forward who plays well in transition and supplies good back-side defense with his good shot-blocking abilities. He is also a great passer and good finisher around the rim since he can finish through contact well. He can hit shots out to just inside the three-point line with needed time and space as well and is more of a perimeter and high-post player than a low-post prescence. Don’t expect him to get significant playing time right away at Maryland but he will be a solid role player in years to come.
