Grennan, a senior point guard out of the state New Jersey, chose the Pirates over Charlotte, Fordham, La Salle, Tulane, and Vermont and will be joining a Seton Hall team next year who is losing their top two scorers (Jeremy Hazell and Jeff Robinson) to graduation. Although Grennan plays the point, his shoot-first, pass-second mentality will fit in well with the Pirates who will desperately need his scoring. He has great range, a quick shot, and good ball-handling skills which allows him to get by defenders to take the pull-up jumper or get to the basket when defenders get too close to him. He is also a great passer and looks for the open man even if he loves to shoot the ball. However, one area Grennan needs to improve in is his size and strength. It will be interesting to see next year if he struggles with the constant beating his body will take due to the physical nature of the game. He can also improve on his consistency defensively and shooting percentage when he gets into the lane. Look for Grennan to start next year and be an immediate contributor on the offensive end for the Pirates as all but two guards are graduating and only Jordan Theodore gets significant playing time.
