Pierria Henry, after decommitting from VCU, committed to the Charlotte 49ers over Akron, Marshall, West Virginia, Xavier, and Virginia Tech. Henry is a combo guard who can play either the point or the two partly due to his ability to create shots for both himself and others. He also has good size for the point and has the speed and quickness to be a slasher and get to the bucket where he can finish or has the court vision to dump it off to a big man or kick it out to an open shooter. Henry has a solid mid-range jumper as well and is good defensively and fits in well in Charlotte’s system. Although he will likely not start next year since leading assist-men Derrio Green and Jamar Briscoe are returning, he should be a solid starter in the years to come along with fellow class of 2011 recruits small forward Victor Nickerson, center Mike Thorne, and shooting guard Terrence Williams.
