Evaluation: The Duke-commit is one of the most fundamentally sound players in the class of 2011. He isn’t an elite scorer due to his lack of initial burst in his first step but he does have a very nice step-back jumper that he seems to never miss and is nearly impossible to guard. He also is a solid shooter but has a long motion. Gbinije has good size and strength for a small forward as well which allows him to post up smaller defenders. However, given his size, he needs to work on his rebounding since he could be a good rebounder at the three. His ball-handling could also use some work but he should be a good role player at Duke eventually transitioning into an impact starter for the Blue Devils.
