Evaluation: Niang is a guy with great fundamentals and mechanics and is good in the low post. He saw his stock jump last summer as he and his BABC (MA) team won the Nike EYBL Peach Jam. Niang is a consistently effective guy who always plays with effort and energy. However, he lacks great athleticism and size and largely plays below the rim. Niang is a guy who has long been underrated and will bring a great and winning attitude to Iowa State. He’s an outstanding pick-up for the Cyclones and is a great get for head coach Fred Hoiberg.
