Wat up! Wat up! This is Ishmail “Ish” Wainright. I’m just chillin’, watchin’ TV right now. This is my second blog that I’m doing for National Recruiting Spotlight. I’ve been so busy with trying to finish up school strong, working out and playing AAU.

Lately, I’ve been on the phone non-stop. I have talked to many coaching staffs like Duke, Florida, Ohio State, Baylor and Tulsa. This time of the year is going to be crazy. It’s AAU time and that means the coaches are out and can contact us!!!! This is the best time of the year (AAU) and I’m speaking for all of the players! We got the [Nike] EYBL goin’ on and boy… it’s tough.

Last week, we played at Boo Williams… they were some tough games!! Next weekend we go to [the third session of the EYBL in] Dallas and then two weekends after that [the fourth session is in] Oakland. It gets crazy in the gyms. The games can come down to the last second buzzer-beater or it’s a blowout. But EVERY second of the game counts.

Like last weekend I hit a buzzer-beater to win a game!! We were down two with a few seconds left and when [class of 2013 shooting guard] Keith [Frazier] was at the free throw line, I kept saying to him, ‘Keith, miss this shot man, if you miss it I’m going to make it.’ He missed the first shot and then he missed the second one and I got the ball and took off. In my head I was telling myself, ‘I’m going to knock it down, somehow, someway.’ I just took off and got past half court and let it fly. Right when I let it go I knew it was going in, that was actually my second buzzer-beater. I got a tip-in against Boo Williams in Minnesota too!!!

I know everyone wants to know about my recruitment. I’m not saying names because I might leave somebody out and I don’t want to do that, but my recruitment has been great so far. I know I said that my parents want Duke at the top of my list, but it’s still early and I don’t have a top one or two or three or anything like that. I will say this about Duke, though, [head] coach [Mike] Krzyzewski is a livin’ legend! The program is great!!

And I know my man [class of 2013 shooting guard] Matt [Jones] told [NRS founder] Josh [Paunil] that he’s been recruiting me and every time I see him he says something!! Lol, he keeps telling me, ‘Duke is where it’s at!’ I want to put my list together by the end of the summer. I want to visit Syracuse, Duke, Kansas, Florida, Texas, Baylor, N.C. State, UCLA, Marquette, Tulsa and Oklahoma State! I hope I can visit all them! I know I’m leaving some out so there are a few others too.

I have heard from really everyone so far and I think that is the best part about summer ball. Coaches fill the gym and they just sit down with their iPhone’s or their Blackberry’s and just tweet, text, or call another coach! It’s crazy. Some coaches get into the game and they’re jumping up, clapping, leaving the gym when somebody gets dunked on or crossed up… it’s so funny!!  They have fun watchin’ us have fun! They wink at us (#pause), salute us and everything!

Lets get into life in general. I know some guys think I be having all the girls and stuff. Okay, I do, but not like some of yall out there. I am starting to chill out on all that. I got this girl I’ve been liking for a minute now. I call her “Wifey”. I know yall got a girl like that in yall phone, lol, you call her Baby, Wifey, Boo, Main, My Everything, Mrs…, come on now keep it real, lol, but yea, I got one of those. Lol, if ya girl stays up till three in the morning waitin’ for a “baby we won” she the right one! Lol. Haha, she stayed up when we were playin’ in Hawaii and I thought that was great. Lol, she bad too!! Hahaha, alright I’m done with that.

Now I know yall like shoes right, well I love shoes. I was raised with my sister buyin’ every pair of Jordans that came out and also every pair of Nikes. It’s still the same. I love Js. I’m mad still ’cause I didn’t find the playoffs anywhere but I’m gonna find them.

I ain’t done yet!! But I know for sure I’m gettin’ these Js that come out May 19th (cool grey 12s), they run at about $160. Man, they be breakin’ my pockets MJ! But that’s it for today. I gotta get back to the game. Lebron and Melo goin’ at it. My two favorite players!!

But before I go, if you enter a question for me in the form below I’ll answer a couple of them next time in my blog!! I want some great questions! Lol. You can ask me anything from shoes to basketball to coaches to my recruitment to whatever!!

I also want to tell you about this live chat I’ma do here on National Recruiting Spotlight in two weeks on May 20. I’m going to try to get [class of 2013 point guard] Kasey Hill (Florida) to do it with me but we’ll see!! [Editor’s Note: More information will be published about this next week.]
